HOOTER
Hooter’s new parents, Katie and Monte, say “We just adore this bird. She’s shown herself to be very affectionate and social. She’s not shy at all, but shows a particular preference toward blond women! She greets us every day after work with a hearty “HELLO!” Oh, and if she’s not quite ready to go to bed at might, OR if she’s the last one to leave the sleep cages, she says in a very “Mrs. Doubtfire” sort of way, “Hellooooo…” as if to say, “Did you forget something?” She’s a beautiful bird, full of surprises! We just adore her!!” — Katie and Monte
MOLUKU
Michelle tells her adoption story, “I met my bird Moluku through the Lily Sanctuary and it was love at first sight. Moluku talks and keeps me laughing every day, we dance to music together and he never says no to sharing fruit or veggies with me. He is a cuddle bug. When I cuddle him in the morning, he says, “I love you!” He is an amazing companion and he has come such a long way from the bird he was at his old home. I can’t imagine what my home would be without him. Thank you Lily Sanctuary! Much love.” — Michelle Panick, San Diego Zoo
DEACON
Melissa writes, “Deacon, our blue-headed Pionus, has been with us a couple of years now and has even appeared on the cover of Bird Talk magazine. He loves to watch football with my husband, Scott, in his “man room.” He mimics laughter and likes to tease our dogs with food. Hope you are doing well, (Lily Sanctuary)!” — Melissa Kauffman, Editorial Director, Websites and Exotics, Bowtie
PACO
Paco’s new parents, Jennifer & Cesar, say, “Paco is doing great. We had our two year anniversary in October. He is a great bird and we are so glad that we adopted him. We recently moved into a house. He loves being able to sit outside with us in the sun and watch the little birds flying all over the yard. He loves to take showers. He will sit on my knee and put his head down waiting for head rubs. He will say “Hi,” “Step Up,” and “Paco.” He makes cute noises such as beeping like the microwave when we are in the kitchen, squeaking like a squeaky door when we open a door or cupboard, and he laughs when we do or when he hears it on TV. He loves to tear up paper into tiny bits. Overall, he is a joy to have around and we both adore him.” — Jennifer & Ceasar
